De luchtpomp wordt gebruikt voor de microStar onderzoeksopstelling om het ozongas, dat niet in het water is opgelost, eruit te zuigen. Door deze luchtaanzuigpomp te gebruiken in combinatie met het speciale aquarium kan de opstelling binnenshuis gebruikt worden.
